Stabilized Mud Blocks - Alternative to traditional Bricks!!

 What are Stabilized Mud Blocks? Stabilized Mud Blocks (SMBs) are an alternative green Building that can be used as an alternative to Bricks or ACC blocks. Bricks and ACC blocks used more energy to produce than SMBs. SMBs are made from a mixture of locally available soil, water, and stabilizers such as cement, lime, or fly ash. The exact proportions of each material may vary depending on the type of soil and stabilizer used, as well as the desired properties of the SMBs. However, a general guideline for SMB production is: Soil: The soil used in SMB production should be clayey or silty, with low sand content. The ideal soil should have a plasticity index (PI) between 10 and 20, and a pH value between 6 and 7.5. Water: The water used in SMB production should be clean and free from impurities. If you are thinking to get in to Architecture Studies. here are few tips before you get in to architecture.

1. It's not about only sketches...

    One generally thinks (especially society advises) that, if you are good at sketching than must apply to architecture.... believe me pal, it is not that easy. if you are good at sketching and drawing than you must apply to fine-arts or other drawing related field.

In architecture there much more than sketching, it required observation skill, other than observing objects and activity one must develop the ability to observe minor details and human habits & behavior. one must have some sort of knowledge of physics & mathematics. so, it is more than sketches...

2.This is not a Virtual Work

You can imagine up to your highest creative level & up to the best you can think. But in the end things gonna really executed on the earth. So it should be practical. There is not always that looks good on paper can really be made on the field. So always keep that in mind. Another thing is you are designing for real humans. The space or the building should improve the existing condition or do a value addition in the existing scenario. This is how it begins only. 

3. Architecture is very well calculated scientific Art...

Yes, architecture is all about Art, science and mathematics. In some cases it is pure mathematics. The building must have desired feelings. Like if the building is design for economic purpose than one can think that it should have bold expression, but if it is for cultural purpose the expression of building changes for the cultural elements or according to their cultural beliefs. This is an art part. 
How the building will built, how many fanestration are required for the purpose of the building. And there are a lot thing for each part of building that is pure mathematics. 
There is science of environment affect building in different regions and different time. Like sound, light, heat, cold, air circulation, sun light, etc.
